The debut album that began the three-decade legacy of Japan’s most iconic and influential post-hardcore band is now available for release in North America for the first time ever! Originally released in 1996, Breathing and dying in this place… is Envy at its infancy – all fast-paced riffs, urgent screaming, and fairly straightforward song structures. With the longest song clocking in at just over 2 minutes, this is obviously a very different band than the one who later made (and continue to make) long-form experimental post-hardcore classics. This is where Envy’s story starts.
